Kostas Tsimikas has dropped a telling hint about his Liverpool future with a post on social media.
The Liverpool defender is one of the few players whose future at the club is uncertain at the moment.
Tsimikas is in his sixth season at the club since moving from Olympiacos in a reported £12m deal.
The Greek defender has made 115 official first-team appearances since joining Liverpool.
However, he has failed to nail down the left-back spot in the five seasons he has been at Liverpool.
Last season he played the most number of games he has played in a single season since he came to Liverpool, making 29 appearances for the club.
However, Liverpool’s capture of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth has thrown Tsimikas’ and Andy Robertson’s future into uncertainty.
Arne Slot signed the Hungarian as a long-term solution for the left-back position, meaning that one of Tsimikas and Robertson is expected to leave the club this summer.
Initially, it appeared as though Robertson would be the one to leave as Spanish giants Atletico Madrid were showing concrete interest in him.
However, the La Liga side have moved on from their pursuit of Robertson, having signed Matteo Ruggeri from Atalanta.
So as it stands, Liverpool have three senior left-backs on their books.
The belief is that one of Robertson and Tsimikas would still leave this summer.
Amid the imminent scramble and competition for a starting place, the Greek defender’s latest social media post does not suggest he is looking to leave the club this summer.
Tsimikas played 45 minutes in Liverpool’s 3-1 win pre-season over Preston North End on Sunday afternoon.
Taking to social media after the game, the 28-year-old posted several pictures from the game, with the caption “Season Six, Episode One.”
Having started Liverpool’s first pre-season game ahead of Robertson, Tsimikas will be hoping to be Arne Slot’s first or second choice for the left back position this season.
Should that be the case, then it means Robertson, who has just one year left on his current deal will likely depart the club this summer.
